2 factor authentication would be amazing. Maybe you store the carrier name in db so you can send simple sms .

I suggest to integrate a 2FA authentication method like duosecurity (https://duo.com/docs/duoweb) (I prefer it because it allows simple TAP on the application) or other method like Google authenticator
