Can't goto 2nd level of Master/Detail

1st level is ok, can go directly to 1st level Master/Detail

A1 Master
single record

A2 Details
multiple records

But clicking on hamburger icon of A2 Details cannot go directly to:

A2 Master
single record

A3 Details
multiple records

Need to view A2 single record first, then click A3 Details on top of page to arrive at A2 Master/A3 Details pageA2 is both a detail and a masterMaster/Detail Add,Edit,View (As Detail) is configured correctly.
Maybe I’m using it incorrectly and it can’t work with more than 1 level?
Or maybe 1 table cannot be both master and detail.
