I was surprised to discover that ASP.NET Maker 2020 was still using CKEditor 4, when version 5 is now firmly established. It would be nice to see CKEditor 5 added to ASP.NET Maker 2020. Also, a long standing issue I’ve had with CKEditor in ASP.NET maker is that it does not integrate with the CSS and I always have to retrospectively change the code to point to the css. When adding version 5 it would be good if you also updated the config file to point to the project css to save having to make such changes.
CKEditor 4 is distributed under three copyleft Open Source license options: GPL, LGPL, MPL. CKEditor 5 is distributed under a GPL 2+ copyleft Open Source license.
Thanks for the reply but as both variants provide a public use licenses I must be missing the meaning behind your reply. If you are suggesting that licensing is an issue can you please explain why?
Since ASP.NET Maker extensions are not open source project, I believe it cannot include CKEditor 5 in extensions under GPL 2+.
