Code Editor not working on new installation

Any code page just displays “File not Found - ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND”

I assumed it was a Webview2 problem but when I try to install this, it says Webview2 runtime is already installed.

Any ideas what else might cause this?

(I am running 2026.7 and I have also reinstalled it just in case.)

You may try the following to make sure your WebView2 is good:

  1. Close PHPMaker,
  2. Update Microsoft Edge (which will update WebView2 also),
  3. Double check your advanced settings for WebView2, make sure they are empty (use defaults) or you have specified correct settings. If you use OneDrive which has taken control of your Documents folder, you should set the WebView2 user data folder to another path outside OneDrive.
  4. Reboot (if necessary).
  5. Open PHPMaker again.

After multiple experiments, including reinstalling node.js, and reboots, it now seems to be working.

I’m not sure why but at least it goes!
