How to update old custom files?

have a few files that were used to upload files from MS365 onedrive/sharepoint/mailboxes, the frontend modules were phpMaker generated custom files and within those it would call the a php support file that would do the upload and setup as needed..

should this code be moved into the ApiActionController class as Routes and the frontend simply call the routes instead?. these files don't need any mvc structure, or is there another recommended method to support this?

Your description is a little vague, you may post one of your custom file for discussion.

In general, if your files has UI and need the layout, continue to use Custom Files. If you just need to do some action in the backend, move to ApiActionController class.

yes, they are only for backend support.. updating records etc., no UI, i created new routes moved the code to ApiActionController.
