PDF upload, thumbnail not showing

I’m creating a project and making adjustments along the way.
I have 2 fields to upload files and they are binary ones.
I’ve added some test records and made adjustments. If I’m not mistaken, I could already see the pdf thumbnail on the list, view and edit pages but I must have changed something and now all I get is an “empty cell” withthe pdf symbol and the “open” button that works for downloading the file.
I tried to get back to that working condition but couldn’t and I’m all confused to what I did or did not test. I’ve also checked the help files but I think I keep missing something. Tried for the save to database and save to folder versions.
For jpg/png works just fine.

Summing up:

  • binray field
  • Advanced setting - embed pdf active
  • I have a folder available on the server with all necessary permissions
  • View tag = image
  • href = same field

What am I missing?

Is it due to the Href field? You may try remove it and test.

So, I’ve tested your suggestion and nothing changed but I remembered to test on another browser and with or without href, the pdf thumbnail would appear.
In conclusion, Chrome was with the option to download pdf active and when I saw previously the thumbnail I must have seen it on another computer where I made some tests… That solved it!
Thank you for your help and maybe this will help someone else with the same problem in the future… (your suggestion and mine)
