Dear,
I have an old project (PHP maker 8) for my client which still runs ok. (never needed to make changes for many years).
Note that, in those days, I made quite some modifications to the template and CSS-file(s).Now we would like to add some functionality and for that I would like to upgrade to PHPmaker 2020.
Is upgrading from PHPmaker 8 to 2020 feasible or is it recommended to start from scratch (using the existing database structure).
And, if upgrading is feasible, does there exist some documentation on how to do that or which issues I might run into? Thanks!
If you don’t have PHPMaker 2019 license, then you should start from scratch. If you have PHPMaker 2019 and PHPMaker 2020 licenses, then you should be able to upgrade it twice; first from PHPMaker 8 to PHPMaker 2019, and then from PHPMaker 2019 to PHPMaker 2020. You may read the following documentation for more info:
You can open v8 project by v2020 directly, but yes, you need to read the follows first:
OK, thank you!
